NPPD is checking power poles

Panhandle, Neb. (KNEP) Nebraska Public Power District is taking a proactive approach to finding power poles with decay before its too late and the poles fall. According to a press release, NPPD will be inspecting 10,807 poles this year.

Crews will be out in reflective gear and driving around in UTVs checking various NPPD property. They will excavate ground lines, inspect equipment, and make repairs.

These inspections will take place in:

• Norfolk
• Emmet
• Ainsworth
• Bristow
• Butte
• Inman
• Lynch
• McGrew
• Melbeta,
• Northport
• Minatare
• Scottsbluff
• Terrytown

They will also check transmission lines across the state.
