SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. To remember those first responders who risk their lives every day without asking for anything in return, Firefighter Ministries is hosting their 2nd Annual First Responder Awards.

An award is given to one police officer, one firefighter, one paramedic and one dispatcher. Any first responder in the Panhandle can be nominated. Last day to vote is October 10th. (Brian Sherrod, KNEP)

“We thought of it last year,” said Carissa Smith, Coordinator. ”We just thought it would be a good way for us to give back to the first responders in the area.”

An award is given to one police officer, one firefighter, one paramedic and one dispatcher.

Any first responder across the Panhandle can be nominated.

“These people go day to day and give their best to our community without being recognized,” explained Smith. “It’s a good way to nominate someone you know who goes out of their way to help other people.”

To nominate, you can either go on their website at firstbaptistscottsbluff.com and click the events tab, head over to the Firefighter Ministry Facebook page or email Carissa Smith at carissasmithocc@gmail.com.

You have until October 10th to vote.

The winners will receive a plaque and goodies.
