Officers arrest one after allegedly threatening to kill kids' dogs

MINATARE, Neb. - (KNEP) - A Scottsbluff man was arrested after allegedly threatening kids and adults at a Lake Minatare beach earlier this month.

According to court documents, Garry Zika was seen on August 4th becoming belligerent and vulgar while shouting profanities. He allegedly first told children who were playing in the water that he was going to kill their dog.

He then allegedly went up to adults and told them they should get rid of their kids and their dog. He also made threatening gestures and stomped toward the campground before leaving in his vehicle.

After officers took witness reports an arrest warrant was made leading police to go to Zika’s home. When officers arrived, Zika would not comply and attempted to pull away. After subduing the 49-year-old he was arrested for terroristic threats, disturbing the peace and resisting. Zika faces a 10% of $150,000 bond.
