One person killed in crash near Lewellen

LEWELLEN, Neb. A panhandle accident claims the life of a 48 year old Lewellen man.

The Nebraska State Patrol responded to a fatal accident on County Road 44, about two miles south of Lewellen, around 1:10am on Saturday.

NSP says the pickup ran off of the roadway into a ditch.

The vehicle rolled and ejected the passenger because no restraints were used.

The passenger, 48 year old David Schwartz of Lewellen, was killed.

Driver, 40 year old Molly Raymer of Milliken Colorado, was treated in a Scottsbluff hospital according to Lt. Art Frerichs of the Nebraska State Patrol.

Garden County also assisted on scene.
