Over $231,000 raised to renovate Pillars of the Park

ALLIANCE, Neb. The Pillars in the Park project was brought up during the Alliance City Council Meeting on January 7th.

Alliance City Council approved the hiring of a consultant to assist with the development and submission of a grant to aid with construction costs. The City will move forward with the design, planning and engineering. (Brian Sherrod, KNEP)

They discussed resolutions approved for additional steps towards the completion of this project.

The Alliance City Council accepted the funds that were raised for the completion of the project in the amount of $231,038.79 through community donations and fundraising activities.

City Council also approved moving forward with hiring a consultant to assist with the development and submission of a grant to aid with construction costs.

The City will move forward with the design, planning and engineering.

Baker and Associates conducted public meetings to gather input from the community about what they would like to see for this project.

Based on the input, several design options were created and shared with the community through an online survey.

Once the construction designs are created, the City will know the expected total cost of the renovation.

Future donations for the Pillars Project need to be submitted to the City of Alliance at 324 Laramie Ave.
