Over $67,000 approved in Keno funds for six organizations

GERING, Neb. Gering Council approved six organizations with a total of $67,724.98 in Keno Committee requests.

The Gering Civic Center received $37,000.00 to purchase a replacement message center display for their Gering Civic Center sign.

The Nebraska Panhandle AHEC received $1,000.00 for a special Regional Science Fair.

The High Plains Auto Club received $3,500.00 to assist with the costs of the Friday night barbeque for entrants at the Civic Center.

The Riverside Discovery Center received $20,000.00 to help build an entirely new habitat for their two grizzly bears within the heart of the zoo.

The Carpenter Center received $5,000.00 to purchase and install two sets of retractable bleachers. The bleachers are six rows high and will seat 240 people.

Theater West Summer Repertory received $1,224.98 to purchase a keyboard case, receiver case and replacement mic cables.
