SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - (KNEP) - A planning committee is putting the final touches on a six-week outdoor concert series in Scottsbluff.
A six-week concert series planned for the summer in the plaza (source KNEP)
The committee is looking to have the six-week series every Thursday from July 4th to August 8th. The events will run from 6p to 9p and feature bands. The committee has six local bands tentatively scheduled with two playing at each of the first three.
They are working to sure up the stage as well as sponsorships and tee shirts but believe this will help bring in more activities to downtown during the summer months.
There is a similar program in Alliance that has a strong following; which the committee is looking at to try to piggy back off of.
The entire series will be at the plaza at East 18th and Broadway with the very first concert featuring a kiddy bike parade down Broadway. Concerts will be free to the public with Flyover Brewery and food trucks available on site for food, drinks and alcohol. Alcohol can be consumed on the plaza, which holds about 500 people, but is forbidden on the street.
More information is to come as the series draws closer.
