Scotts Bluff County Tourism not awarding grants for one year

GERING, Neb. According to a statement from Scotts Bluff County Tourism, due to the economic crisis created by the response to COVID-19, lodging tax receipts are declining and industry trends are changing.

Effective immediately, Scotts Bluff County Tourism will not be awarding any Capital Improvement Grants or Promotional Grants for a minimum of one year. (KNEP)

Thus, Scotts Bluff County Tourism is adapting.

Effective immediately, Scotts Bluff County Tourism will not be awarding any Capital Improvement Grants or Promotional Grants for a minimum of one year.

Scotts Bluff County Tourism will maintain the current destination marketing plan.

Scotts Bluff County Tourism will use the next year to evaluate the effectiveness of past grant awards and develop a metric based system for evaluating future grant requests.

Staff will also watch industry trends to identify opportunities to drive tourism in Scotts Bluff County.
