Scottsbluff High is crowned math champs

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - (KNEP) - Scottsbluff High School is celebrating after being crowned Math champs at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln Campus.

Forty-five student joined the over 1,200 kids from 94 other schools to take part in the 30th annual Nebraska Math Day which tests students for a day with fast-paced mathematics.

For the sixth time in the last seven years, Scottsbluff took home the best represented school award which honors the school with the highest percentage of its population competing at the contest in each classification.

The school also won their third math bowl in the last five years. The math bowl is a double elimination tournament that sees twelve questions each game.

But, for the first time in school history, Scottsbluff High won the PROBE 1 Competition. The Problems Requiring Outstanding or Brilliant Effort is a 25 question multiple choice exam.
