Scottsbluff accident leaves one with possible neck injury

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. Scottsbluff Police responded to a reported injury accident on the intersection of 10th Avenue and E Overland around 4:10pm on Friday.

The accident involved a 2001 Ford pickup, driven by Ariel Barraza of Scottsbluff, and a 1990 Honda Civic, driven by Carole Cox of Scottsbluff.

The Ford was stopped facing west bound on E Overland at the intersection waiting to turn south onto 10th Ave.

The Honda was east bound on E Overland passing through the intersection.

The Ford made a left turn as the Honda was passing through the intersection and impacted the driver's side of the Honda.

Scottsbluff Fire used extrication equipment to remove Cox from her vehicle.

Cox was then transported to Regional West Medical Center for a possible neck injury.

The intersection was closed for about an hour for their investigation.

Barraza was issued a citation for Failure to Yield and No Operators License.

The Ford sustained an estimated $700 in damages and the Honda was a total loss.
