Scottsbluff man sentenced for child abuse charges

SCOTTS BLUFF COUNTY, Neb - (KNEP) - A Scottsbluff man is sentenced Friday to at least three years in prison after taking a plea deal in child abuse case.

David Billie is facing three counts of child abuse and one count of strangulation (Source Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office)

According to court documents, David Billie Jr. entered a guilty or no contest plea back in September stemming from a June arrest in which he allegedly assaulted three minors.

In exchange for the plea, a strangulation charge was dropped and he was sentenced for one felony count of child abuse and two misdemeanor charges.

Court documents reveal that at his sentencing on Friday, Billie was told he would see 18-24 months in prison with 141 days credited for the felony charge and another 12 months for each misdemeanor charge.

The three counts will be served concurrently. Billie will also see 9 months of post-release supervision.
