Scottsbluff teen runs through the storm with a purpose

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - (KNEP) - A Scottsbluff teen didn’t let the blizzard type winds and snow stop him from running with a purpose.

Meet 17-year-old Christian Requejo who is running in the blizzard to get himself ready for Marine Corp boot camp. Ever since he was a kid, he has wanted to serve his country and has various decoratives in his room.

He is a poly and waiting to be shipped out on September 16th. Until then he is working on getting in shape to run PT with the staff sergeant.

Requejo mentioned during boot camp there is one day where everyone will be wet and cold and will have to gut it out to get through. With the run, he is looking to build a mentality that ‘yes he may be cold and wet but so is everyone else.’ No matter what you have to just get the job done.

The Scottsbluff native ran from the city to the Scotts Bluff County Courthouse and back with the American Flag in hand.
