GERING, Neb. (KNEP) The Gering Police Department said despite multiple agencies searching hundreds of miles on the ground and in the air, they have not found anything to aid their investigation to the whereabouts of Chance Englebert.

Chance Engelbert was last seen leaving the 700 Block of O Street in Gering around 7:30pm on Saturday. His last phone location was in vicinity of WTT Truck Stop around 10:00pm. (Brian Sherrod, KNEP)

"We are going to be transitioning from an actively searching phase to a phase focusing on more on the investigation - doing more with cell phones, interviews with family, co-workers and other people in the lives of (Englebert)," Chief George Holthus said.

Chief Holthus said they will review Englebert's financial records too.

Chief Holthus said the search efforts have included 147 people participating in ground searches, 2,400 acres searched, 18 agencies involved, Air Link logged 280 miles and the Nebraska State Patrol helicopter logged 100 miles.

"We can say with relative certainty that Chance isn't in those areas," Holthus said.

Chance's mother, Dawn Englebert, said she's living a nightmare but thanked the community for it's support.

Dawn made a plea to her son that if he ran away to please come home.

"I never felt that Chance would leave his family," Dawn said. "I feel that if he has just needed a break and ran away from being a grown-up, I get it. I'm disappointed, I'm hurt. But please, Chance, if that's the case come home."

Dawn said she still thinks someone knows something that may help them find her son.

Chief Holthus said if Chance did runaway, he would not face any criminal charges.

"There's no repercussions. If that's what happened and Chance needed a break, to decompress, whatever, there is no criminal charges," Holthus said. "He has not committed a crime. He is an adult. He can go and do."

Chance was last seen leaving the 700 Block of O Street in Gering around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Chance's phone last pinged in the vicinity of WTT Truck Stop around 10 p.m.

Chance was last seen wearing a short sleeve button up Wrangler shirt, dark blue Wrangler jeans, roper style boots and a black and white trucker hat.

Chance is 5’9, is medium build and has sun-lightened brown hair.

A reward is being offered for anyone who can find Chance.
