Principal Deirdre Amundsen is happy to have a veteran dad who comes to this program.

“My dad will be here today because he’s a veteran,” said Deirdre Amundsen, Principal. “It’s very near and dear to my heart. I grew up as a military brat so I totally appreciate all of the freedoms and how much sacrifice not only those veterans have made, but their families as well.”

The veterans told the students about their ranks and the branch they served in.

“To open up that line of communication for sharing those stories,” said Amundsen. “These kids are going to be able to share these stories of these veterans and their grandparents. They may not even be related to them but they can share stories.”

The program lasted for about 45 minutes.
