PANHANDLE, Neb. - (KNEP) - Three businesses out of 35 in the Panhandle fail a tobacco compliance check ran by the Nebraska State Patrol.
Those three businesses include: Safeway and Midwest Vapors World in Scottsbluff and Thrifty’s Gas & Liquor 3 in Bridgeport. In total, one business in Lyman and Broadwater were inspected with six in Bridgeport, four in Morrill, seven in Gering and sixteen in Scottsbluff.
The businesses who failed have been notified and the appropriate action has been taken.
Jessica Davies with the Tobacco Free in the Panhandle Coordinator with Panhandle Public Health District states national research shows that when communities consistently conduct compliance checks and keep failure rates below 10%, children in those communities are less likely to use tobacco products.
