Weather plays a factor in a single vehicle accident that knocks down a light pole

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - (KNEP) - Its believed weather and slick roads caused a Gering woman to knock down a street light pole.

According to Scottsbluff Police Sergeant Philip Eckerberg the accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 26 and Avenue B around 5:30p.

Jessica Ryks was eastbound on the highway when she lost control and hit a street light pole. The car went off road before coming to a stop. Ryks was not transported to the hospital.

The Police department is encouraging drivers to slow down and be cautious on slick roads.
