Hastings Catholic Schools is an exceptional option for your child’s education. Preschool through 5th grade is offered at St. Michael Elementary and 6th through 12th grade at St. Cecilia Middle & High School. Combined enrollment is around 500 students.
At Hastings Catholic Schools they understand that parents are the first educators in students’ lives. Teachers partner with parents to assure children are receiving the best education possible.
Their team of teachers, staff and administrators partner with parents to teach and promote Christian values. HCS also offers childcare for preschoolers through 5th graders, easing the stress of pick up and drop off schedules for parents.
Approved and accredited by the Nebraska Department of Education, HCS teachers’ number one priority is student safety and learning. The HCS teaching team encourages the successes of all students by providing focused opportunities in core academic classes as well electives and a wide-range of extracurricular activities. Each year, St. Cecilia students exceed both Nebraska and National ACT score averages. Last year’s seniors were offered a combined total of over $2.4M in scholarships. And, out of the class of 30 graduating seniors, six students were named Regent Scholars, meaning they earned a full ride to a Nebraska university. At St. Michael Elementary, student performance also exceeds state and national averages. At the end of the 2021-22 school year 74% of St. Michael students were reading at or above grade level and 84% were performing at or above grade level on math skills.
“It is our focus to educate the whole student, mind and spirit,” Fr. Tom Brouillette, Chief Administrative Officer said. “We believe our students’ successes grow from the safe learning environment where our student-to-teacher ratios, averaging 11-1, foster meaningful educational experiences where no child falls through the cracks. It’s an environment where students are equipped with the knowledge and moral decision-making skills that will help them to be successful now and in their futures. When a parent chooses Hastings Catholic Schools, they are investing in their child’s future.”
On average, families spend about $100 to $300 a month per child. Scholarship opportunities exist as well as financial assistance programs such as a the Good Shepherd Scholarship or the Hastings Catholic Schools Good Angel Fund.
