HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Cooler and drier air is working in from the north as a cold front passed through last night. So the humidity won’t be nearly as high as the last few days. We’ll see increasing clouds from the west, which will slow down our warming as the day goes on. Highs temperatures will range from the mid 70s west and northwest to the mid 80s in the southeast. Along with the increase in clouds, we’ll see showers and isolated thunderstorms push in from the west. These won’t likely get much farther east than the Tri-Cities, but will mostly be over western and southwestern portions of the Local4 viewing area. This will continue into this evening as they push southeastward, eventually clearing to our south later in the night. Isolated severe storms will be possible in far Southwest Nebraska, but shouldn’t be a big issue for most of the area. By tomorrow morning, skies will be mostly clear and temperatures should be very pleasant. Lows tomorrow morning will mostly be in the mid to upper 50s and lower 60s.

Tomorrow will still be a pretty nice day with mostly sunny skies. Later in the afternoon and continuing into Friday night, there could be a few showers and thunderstorms around. The chance of severe weather remains on the lower side. High temperatures on Friday will mostly rise to the low to mid 80s. Low temperatures Saturday morning will dip into the upper 50s and low to mid 60s.

Saturday will be the transition day from the nice weather to end the week to the big heat building in next week. There will be quite a bit of sunshine on Saturday as temperatures rise into the mid to upper 80s and lower 90s. There will again be a slight chance of thunderstorms late Saturday into Saturday night.

Most will be dry for the early to middle part of next week as the real heat begins to build in. Highs on Sunday will reach the upper 80s and low to mid 90s. We should see widespread 90s on Monday with the warmest temperatures in the west. On Tuesday, the heat comes up another notch as highs reach the mid to upper 90s and lower 100s. More of the same is expected on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures may come down just a little Friday into next weekend, but will still reach the low to mid 90s.
