Hastings Museum seeks public input on Naval Ammunition Depot exhibit
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) -The Hastings Museum is seeking public input on how to present a new Naval Ammunition Depot exhibit.
The museum held a public discussion Sunday to plan what the new exhibit should look like.
Officials said the Naval Ammunition Depot played a significant role in Hastings history, influencing everything from wartime production efforts to everyday life.
Members at the event said they wanted to see everything from the segregation period to where community members worked.
“I think they told us we were on the right path,” said Teresa Kreutzer-Hodson, director of the Hastings Museum. “I didn’t want to lead them down a road without hearing from them first. But one of our thoughts was to talk about the day and life of an employee and that seemed to resonate with a lot of them.”
Those who missed the meeting and would like to voice their opinions can contact the Hastings Museum.
