5SP: Hastings senior Sophia Reynolds wins Class B individual state title

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hastings senior Sophia Reynolds took home the Class B individual state title, the program’s first girls individual title since 2019.

Reynolds finished eighth her freshman year, fifth her sophomore year and second her junior year before capping her career with a state championship.

“This is actually my eighth time running this course, and so I kind of know the drill,” Reynolds said.

“My goal is just to go in and compete like any other race and do my best and hopefully come out with the win,” Reynolds said. “I’m so thankful for all my coaches, both my cross-country coaches and my track coaches and all my team as well. They’re some of my best friends and I’m so thankful that I joined cross-country in the first place because this is just such an amazing group of people.”
