Tradehome Shoes gives back to Grand Island community
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - For the second year, Tradehome Shoes has donated a pack of socks for every pack bought at their store, to the Willow Rising Crisis Center in Grand Island.
Store manager Brian Danner explained that giving back to the community is something he looks forward to every year.
”I always tell everybody when I come here to Willow Rising it’s the best day of my year. It’s just awesome to give back and help the local community and the people that really need it,” Danner said.
For Willow Rising Executive Director Karla Schwieger-Arnold, the donations are a big help as victims of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and human trafficking seek comfort at the center.
”They have so many needs, so many traumas, so many things that are going on in their lives. Feeling safe and feeling warm together is a great combination,” Schwieger-Arnold said.
In the first year of donation, Tradehome Shoes donated 1,300 packs of socks, and that number increased to 1,900 packs this year.
If you’d like to help, you can visit Tradehome Shoes at the Conestoga Mall and buy a pack of socks. Danner said they’re already counting towards the donation for next year.
