Many Lanning Healthcare opens new acute care facility in Hastings
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Mary Lanning Healthcare opened a new acute care facility in Hastings to give people more care options before going to the emergency room.
“The biggest goal is to decrease wait times so for patients that need to be seen more quickly,” Dr. Zach Frey, Medical Director of Primary Care said. “We can get them in more urgently if they need to, provide more services like IV fluids or give some more medications that we couldn’t give before and give some labs and x-rays quicker than we used to without having to be in the emergency room.”
Another benefit that this clinic can provide to patients is cost. Because the facility is not a full emergency room, it doesn’t come with the cost of one.
“The emergency room is very expensive whereas being seen here, it would be the same cost as going to a regular doctor’s office. It’s billed the same way as a regular doctor’s office visit would be.”
The facility is located at 715 N. Kansas Avenue in the Hastings Family Care primary care clinic on the Second Floor of the MLH Medical Office Building.
Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are also welcome. To make an appointment you can call (402) 463-2929. The clinic is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
