HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings College football team held its first of 10 scheduled spring practices on Wednesday at Lloyd Wilson Field. It’s the official beginning of the fuorth year of Matt Franzen at the helm.

“There’s some unknowns, some young guys who have been putting a lot of work in the offseason,” Franzen said. “Hopefully it’ll start to show up here over the next few weeks. Some things we probably think we know already that we hope continue.”

Players are confident in the group that they have and expressed their excitement about putting the pads back on.

“I think the biggest part is the culture we’re building here,” Hastings College senior linebacker Caden Egr said. “Coach Franzen is doing a great job with all the coaching and setting a standard. Now we’re back out here, it just feels great to be back out on the field.”

“Everyone is feeling great,” Hastings College senior wide receiver Ethan Wilborn added. “Everyone has been focused in the offseason, working as hard as they can. I think everyone sees the potential that this team has, so I think the focus this spring ball in the offseason has been different all around.”
