Hastings Five Points Bank baseball’s Gabriel dives to first in Top 5 Plays

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The latest edition of our Local4 Top 5 Plays features Independence League baseball, legion baseball and high school football from the Sertoma 8-Man All-Star Classic.

1. Hastings Five Points Bank’s Lucus Gabriel tracked down a fly ball against Lincoln Northeast Judds Bros Friday and made a great diving catch.
2. Cambridge’s Kohan Grindle scored two touchdowns at the Sertoma 8-Man All-Star Classic Saturday to help the West team beat the East 26-6.
3. Hastings Sodbusters center fielder Layne Shiers made an impressive sliding catch over his left shoulder against the Casper Spuds Tuesday.
4. Neligh-Oakdale quarterback Aiden Kuester threw a touchdown pass to Riverside’s Carson Bloom at Saturday’s Sertoma 8-Man All-Star Classic to put the West team up 12-0 in what would be a 26-6 win.
5. Hastings Sodbusters third baseman Kannon Coakley stopped a ground ball down the third base line and forced a pickle before causing a tag out at home plate in Monday’s game against the Spuds.
